Tofu

Tofu, is also called " soy cheese" . It is a hyperproteic and very adequate food.
The best thing you can do with soy, is to try to get organic soy, since there are many transgenic products not cultivated in harmony with the Earth. But luckily you can get organic and natural crops. So you can make an organic and delicious TOFU

Necessary materials

  • 1 porous fabric
  • 1 strainer
  • 1 blender
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cup of soybeans
  • 1 box with holes

To make Tofu, the first thing you have to prepare is soy milk

Soy milk
  • Place 1 cup of soybeans in soaking for 12 hours
  • Remove the water from soaking and clean the beans with water
  • Place the soybeans in a blender with 1 liter of water
  • Blend until all the liquefied beans are
  • Filter soy milk, removing solid material
  • Solid material can be discarded or burgers can be prepared with it
Tofu
  • Bring soy milk to a minimum heat, up to a temperature between 70º to 80º C. (It does not have to boil)
  • After reaching the temperature, place the juice of a lemon and cover for 1 hour
  • After that time, clots will form. You have to remove these clots, preferably with a ladle and place them in a box to make tofu (it must have holes), on top of a porous cloth
  • Underneath the tofu box, a container should be placed, since the preparation will begin to release serum, which must be discarded
  • Once all the whey has left the tofu, it is necessary to place some weight on the tofu box that makes pressure. Leave it for one night
  • The next day, take out of the box. Take it to the refrigerator on a plate with a little water

Enjoy tofu in your meals! To flavor it, it is advisable prior to its consumption, sauté it with rosemary and pepper, or the spices that you like the most.
